Biography

Professor Peter Celec is the former head of the Institute of Molecular Biomedicine at the Faculty of Medicine, Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia. Holding degrees in both medicine and molecular biology, his interdisciplinary research bridges basic science and clinical application. Prof. Celec has spent over two decades investigating the role of extracellular nucleic acids, oxidative stress, and carbonyl stress in various diseases, with a strong focus on reproductive medicine and critical care. He is a member of several international scientific societies and is actively involved in mentoring the next generation of biomedical researchers and physicians.

Research Interests:

• Biology and kinetics of extracellular DNA (ecDNA) and RNA
• Pathophysiology of preeclampsia, gestational complications, and sepsis
• Salivary biomarkers and behavioral endocrinology
• Methodological advancements in real-time PCR and enzyme activity assays
