Biography

Drissa M. Toure, MD, PhD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Epidemiology & Community Health at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. His research focuses on maternal and child health, reproductive health, community-engaged research, implementation science, and global health equity. Dr. Toure has led multidisciplinary research projects across Africa examining female genital mutilation, adolescent reproductive health, pediatric mental health, and sexual and reproductive health workforce development. He collaborates closely with governmental agencies, academic institutions, healthcare providers, and community organizations to develop culturally responsive interventions that reduce health inequities and improve health outcomes among underserved populations.

Research interests:

Maternal and Child Health, Women's Reproductive Health, Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR), Implementation Science, Global Health, Mixed Methods Research, Community Health Worker Programs, HIV Prevention and Care, Mental Health, and Health Systems Strengthening.
